Now that I'm leaving for Mexico in a few days, I realize something. I don't speak a word of Spanish. Luckily, with Lawren's helpful online research, I will have all the phrases I need to get by. Such as:It's better in the States. Es mejor en los Estados Unidos. How much is that in real money? ¿Cuánto es en moneda estable? I would very much like to meet you again when you are sober. Será un placer volver a verle [verla], pero cuándo usted esté sobrio [sobria]. I know I'm naked, could you just tell me how to get back to the hotel? Ya se que estoy calato; sólo quiero saber cómo volver al hotel. The Zompist Phrasebook.
Hey
It has been requested that you go to the City with me on 5/14 or 5/15.Steve Sanchez will be in town and really wants to see you and Richard!
I had a good talk with him the other day and he was totally asking about you.

I wish I was the one going to Mexico. :(
Posted by Ash on 04/20 at 06:30 PMIt would seem you have all the important phrases covered - - although there may be some other useful phrases just in case you find yourself in an odd situation.
Let’s say you find yourself at a nude beach with your camera:
You could ask someone: ¿Se puede hacer fotos aquí?
Which means: Is it OK to take pictures here?
If by chance no one is around to answer that question and you are on a nude beach snapping pictures and the subject of your snapshots gets upset you might want to use this phrase:
Lo siento
Which means: I’m sorry (don’t forget to smile and be stepping away from them as you say it)
So as you exit the nude beach you might reconsider a different form off photography and ask the nearest person:
¿Dónde venden cintas para vídeo-cámaras?
Which means: Where can I buy tapes for a video camera?
And when they tell you simply respond as you run down the street to the video shop:
Gracias
Which means: Thank you
