I usually have pretty good luck. My car is pretty reliable, and has been relatively trouble free. I am coming up on the oil change being due, so I had been planning to get it in for service within the next two weeks. Then my driver side window started acting funny. It doesn't like to "roll up". This scares me a little, cause my last car had that problem and I ended up being unable to close the window for two days. Okay, I thought, I really gotta call this week. This morning I woke up for our early Monday meeting (on my day OFF again...) and found that a headlight is burnt out. That would be a service issue on a beetle, as it's all sealed up. Time to get that appointment. I'm afraid what'll happen next if I don't!

  1. Bad day for your car!  Yeah, get that baby in before something really bad happens.

  2. But it’s also a good thing that if stuff breaks, it all breaks at once, right? That way you can get them all fixed now and you don’t have to take the car in for service many times within a short period of time.

  3. Yeah, I just got my headlight fixed(the whole thing went out). $275. =( But I thought it was gonna be $330 so it was less than budgeted for. I drove around with it for about a year.

Beetle? Heehee, wish I had a Beetle, those are sexy cars.

  6. Your poor little beetle - - maybe he isn’t feeling loved for some reason. I say take him in and get his problems fixed and then buy him a new fun air freshener and a good detailing - - bet he’ll feel better then wink

  7. I like Uptown Girl’s suggestion.

On the other hand, I’ve got little things going on my XTerra. And it’s not cost-effective.

    So yesterday, I just went and bought a new(er) vehicle. Cute, sturdy-looking Chevy S10, Z-72 (that’s a package, I tell you what!).
I joked with Ray last night. “The XTerra has bugs all over the windshield. I didn’t feel like washing it, so I traded it in.” Yeah, sure. Like I can afford to live like that!

Get your Beetle all fixed up. You’ll both feel much better afterwards.
