Friday the thirteenth has never really bothered me. I can remember growing up at school that the kids always made a big deal out of it. It was always a day of "bad luck" or otherwise cursed some how. For me it always seemed rather lucky. It was the type of day where I'd find money on the ground, you know? It turned out to be a mostly average day for me today (aside from my wretched cold, which I have now passed to Richard) with a few exceptions. It was nice when I checked the mail when I got home. It had five hundred dollar check in there! See, lucky! Actually it was a bonus from my apartment complex for our lease renewal, but still... I also get to have pizza for dinner. Lucky again! I just hope I can taste it.
If it weren't for being sick I'd feel very lucky. All this talk in the media about gay marriage has really reminded me of just how lucky I am. I have someone to marry. Really. From what I know about the gay lifestyle (firsthand) I feel that is a big deal. My best friend is one of the coolest, most fun people to be around, and he's still single. And he's very cute. In some cultures, maybe cuter than me! (single guys in the bay area...email me, I'd love to play matchmaker) So this year for Valentine's Day I am going to celebrate the fact that I have some one very special in my life.
