I am sure I have written about this before. One of the biggest criticisms I ever get is that I do not like social situations. This is not true. I do enjoy being social, but yes, it has to be on my terms. I am sorry, but I have to be nice to all kinds of people and strangers at work. The last thing I want to do after a long day is talk to more people. At least not right away. Let me slip off my "bitter panties" and decompress for 2.2 seconds. Really. Then I'll be all fun and junk. I promise. If not just buy me a few drinks, that will definitely help...
I put in time doing front desk work at the local glbt center so I spend my time answering phones, dealing with walk-ins, etc and having to provide “service wiith a smile”. After I leave, I need a couple of hours NOT answering the friggin’ phone and having to be nice ecspecially after a busy day.

I know exactly what you mean though. when i was a retail whore i’d be so over people when my parents picked me up (hey! i didn’t have a car at the time AND i was studying) that i just wouldn’t answer any of their questions til I was able to have a nice cup of tea. or a strong vodka.
