Today was much of the same. I am clearly dying of the cough. But I wasn’t going to let it get me down. I drove to work with the top down on the car, music blaring, all that. I was determined to have a good day. I think I did too.
I also got some interesting news. I think it may be time to think about the future, look into buying a place to live and kiss renting goodbye. It’s both exciting and scary at the same time. The thought of doing another move is enough to not want to consider it. That was not easy, and now even though we’ve only been here a short time, we have even more crap! Oi. But still, the rent is like throwing money out the window. When you have a mortgage the money goes towards something real. I don’t know. We’ll see what happens. It hinges on a few factors outside of my immediate control.
What else? I am clearly babbling a bit but I had my Starbucks late in the day and I am coughing. I’m not sleeping and besides, it goes with my new “stream of consciousness” style I’ve been wanting to adapt here. Really.
So I have really been enjoying the podcast thing lately. I think I’ve mentioned it before, but really. I am addicted to Madge. I could just listen to Madge for hours on end. That’s Madge Weinstein at yeastradio.com. I could never do a podcast. It’s far too personal a medium for me. Not to mention the fact that I hate my voice. Seriously. I freak out when I hear myself on an answering machine. So sad. But I love that others do it…
By the way, I am posting via the dial-up tonight. My internet service seems to be having some sort of “hiccup”. I am such a dedicated little blogger. I look hot in my I’m blogging this tee too.
I feel that way about renting, too. Unfortunately, a 1-bedroom apt in Manhattan is anywhere from $1.3 million on up. Looks like we’ll be heading to New Jersey when the time is right.
Posted by yayaempress on 04/22 at 05:57 AMNow, I’m no doctor, but I’ve heard that caffeine exacerbates a cough. Maybe go decaf in your Starbucks for a while?
I hate my voice, too. I think I sound like a 12-year-old boy with chest congestion, but I’ve been told that’s hardly what it sounds like. Who knows?

Posted by laura on 04/22 at 02:56 PMI had this flu/cough a few weeks ago. I tell you, the minute I get sick, I go on a twice-a-day program of cranberry juice and an echinecea & goldenseal pill [available at any drugstore/walmart/etc]. It’s usually gone within 3-4 days. I hope you get better soon.
