Today was the day of my very first stint of jury duty. I am posting, so clearly I am not there. I called the little number last night to find out if I had to "appear". I didn't. I am now (according to the message) free from civic duty for the next twelve months! But there was a small part of me that wanted to get picked for a long trial. You know, to get out of work...
I had jury duty earlier this year, I think it was. Not very exciting until you get pulled for a group. I was excused from the first group and then got pulled for another later in the day. I ended up being the foreman of a bunch of stupid idiots on a pretty lame case. And yet, I enjoyed it just a little.

Posted by brechi on 08/26 at 03:52 PMI usally go in and speak emphatically of my hate for every marginal group in the United States. I usually end by asking if anyone wants to see my membership card for NRA. I’ve never had to to stay for jury duty yet.
