I was spammed pretty bad today. In fact it was the worst ever! I've never seen anything like it... Even though only a few showed up on the site (thanks to MT-Blacklist) the total that were held in Blacklist's "moderation" was 676. That's a lot of email and de-spamming! I just got done! Well, not really, I was done five minutes ago. I spent those 5 minutes finalizing my arrangements to move away from MT. Today was the "topping on the cake" if you will... Soon I will be on a whole new system, and hopefully the only porn links you find here will be what I put up. NOT spam!

  1. Hey… if you find something that is better at stopping spam than MT/Blacklist, let me know!

    Blacklist has been stopping almost all of my spam… about 600 or so today alone. Like you, I’ve had a few get through, but they only get through until I get around to adding them to BL.

    Anyways, if you find something better, give me a holler!

  2. Wordpress baby. The only bad thing is that it doesn’t stop spam, rather it holds any messages containing any of the words you choose to be on that list. I haven’t had any trouble except those few days last week where I got 100 a day. Strange. I haven’t had one since, though.

  3. Yeah a second for Wordpress. I switched to it from MT and have never looked back. Ok I tried Drupal for a few weeks too but it just was not as clean as wordpress. And to make it even easier wordpress has an import feature from MT. Think you will like it.

  4. yeah ... i had to go with wordpress as well.  i formally was with nucleus which I hever got a bit of spam with but nucleus isn’t as feature rich.  i’ve gotten spammed with wp but it’s been moderate and, like sam, seemed to all come at once thru the community then level off i’m pretty satisfied with it ... and wordpress is opensource which is cool.
