I had to stop off at the Whole Foods today, and I wanted to tell you I saw that couple you know! You remember, you saw them while you were at the grocery, or the mall. A really old couple. Very cute. They were all dressed up like they were fresh from church! Cute as buttons! You know them right? We all have seen them. We all have them in our towns. Sadly, they are usually in the way. I got trapped behind them at least three times. I said "excuse me" and hurried by, trying to get home after a long day at work. At the checkout, I was two people behind them, and bless their hearts, I still got out the door faster! It really makes you think. On the one hand, I hope someday to be so old and cute and in love... But on the other, I hope somebody just shoots me before I get so slow and feeble! It's such a frustrating thought that I might age to the point of "being in everyones way". I was not the only one trying to hurry by... I mean, wow, I guess when you've lived that long you deserve to go at your own damn pace! I guess I am trying to say that I should slow down a little, we all should, and remember that life is a precious gift. I need to be more patient and compassionate with those around me, and respect those who have lived so long, and still have that sparkle that our couple has. I hope one day that I have that sparkle (well, and someone to go do my shopping for me!!).

  1. so true hon smile. I agree with all of that! I think my mum only had us so we’d look after her when she hit the nursing home stage *grin*.
