It’s funny how things can change. Christmas used to be such a meaningful time of year. Not only growing up, but as an adult. I always made such a big deal out of it. In fact, I still remember Richard and my first Christmas together. We did the whole tree thing (the rest of the house was all “done up” too!), and exchanged enough gifts to put each other in debt for a while. I think I’m still paying it all off! We did the tree the second year too. That one was flocked with blue lights and blue and silver ornaments (no pictures for obvious reasons). Gifts were exchanged again.
After that we started to not do the tree thing. It was “such a hassle, with the cats” and “there really isn’t room” and all. We still had done the hotel, and my mother’s house so it wasn’t like we were missing out on the fun, really. We decided to stop doing the gifts too. It’s so much better to use that money throughout the year on things like travel, and furniture.
It all makes perfect sense. But today I was thinking. I haven’t had a Christmas tree in five years. Not even a fake one. I think next year, after The Big Moveâ„¢, we should have one.
Found you via Blog Explosion. Love the Layout. Yummy!!! And I don’t mean just the nearly naked man at the top. LOL

Posted by L. on 11/28 at 11:00 AMYou should definitely have a tree. I did the tabletop tree last year since I was going out of town but the hubby wasn’t and it was just depressing. I’ve already started lobbying for a tree & we’re getting one although it will be a small tree since we’re both getting out of town for a few days this year.
