I remembered to feed my fish today. It's the little betta in the small tank. I always forget to feed him, even though he is in the same room as the computer, where I spend time every day. Needless to say, he's a slim little guy, but the longest lasting betta I've had in a long time. They're supposed to be easy to keep too... I guess I just have bad luck. Anyway, so that means it's a good day. At least for the fish. I should give him a name. Richard is home this morning. He has a late shift today like mine. We ended up sleeping in together. It's always so hard to get up when the bed is all cozy. I love mornings like that! See, I guess the fish isn't the only one having a good day!.....My last betta fish ended being Part of the water….
let’s just say….“Jello”

...... sigh… I’ll never get a bette fish again.Posted by Wayne on 10/29 at 03:26 PMI had a Betta fish that lived for 4 years. He even survived the move to the big city from the little college town.
I started my new job the day I moved up here, as a pee-on in entry level, and I remember having to ask to leave early because I had a fish in my car. They let me bring him in, considering my circumstances… (The person I was supposed to be staying with wasn’t home when I got up here, so I had to slog to work with my whole life in my car… eh, long story.)
Anyway, I moved up the ladder, and the fish came with me, and lived on my desk until the fateful morning when I came in to find him nose down in the marbles, all swollen, and kinda yellow.
Poor Fishum. Finally kicked the bucket. I figure he had a good life.

Posted by DJ on 10/29 at 09:33 PMsnuggling under cozy covers with a loved one is definitely on the top 10 “best things in life” list.
Posted by riye on 10/30 at 12:34 AMI had a betta once. I actually bought him because I wanted another dog, but didn’t have room in the house for a dog. So I bought a fish. And named him “Puppy.”
Yes, I’m twisted like that.
I’m also a cheapskate, and I think he died from the extreme temperatures. (I didn’t turn the heat on until I ran out of sweatshirts and long underwear to layer on.)
