A religious group has sent out a mass-email to people (presumably a 1,000,000 of them based on their name) requesting that they boycott and protest (call, email, snail mail, etc…) the makers of Tylenol (Johnson and Johnson) because of the ad in the gay/lesbian magazine, The Advocate. They even warned their members to be cautious when viewing the ad because the photo was so “offensive”.

I think that the ad in question is cute and harmless. You may call and offer your support to Johnson & Johnson at: 1-800-962-5357, option 5. Apparently they like it. Or you could maybe use this form.
I think I’ll run out and buy some tylenol right now!
Posted by sangroncito on 07/22 at 10:25 PMTylenol has been emailed. Thanks for posting this. It really pisses me off when companies are pressured by religious freaks.
Posted by Angela on 07/22 at 11:23 PMOh come on! I can’t believe some people. The ad is really cute, and it’s not like people are forced to see it on every street corner - it was in a gay/lesbian magazine, after all. What’s there to protest about?
Posted by Kirsi on 07/23 at 03:11 AMugh… i’m getting really sick of this shit.
Posted by julie on 07/23 at 07:46 AMurg….c’mon people. yummy tylenol.
Posted by Brechi on 07/23 at 08:31 AMAwww, that ad was cute, and so true at the same time. You don’t know how many restless nights I have had when the partner wasn’t feeling well and was restless as well.
Posted by Billy on 07/23 at 10:09 AMWhy wasn’t the other boyfriend pitching a “tent” in his sheet? Now that would be good advertising for the Tylenol/Viagra party drug.
kPosted by knottyboy on 07/23 at 11:03 AMI don’t use Tylenol but only because it’s like candy for me.
But I’m going to go buy a bunch now even if I just have to toss it..assholes…
and I’m filling out that form.
*smooch*Posted by rachel on 07/23 at 03:13 PMthese ultra-right wing conservatives are the masters of making themselves look more important than they are. a group of five people organized to write 1,000’s of e-mails. i don’t know how they don’t see the irony in their actions, how ungodly they are.
Posted by no milk on 07/24 at 09:23 AMThose prudes get me so pissed off, I am going buy tylenol.
Posted by Blue on 07/24 at 03:02 PMthese people really need to get some hobbies…or get laid.
Posted by laura on 07/25 at 09:33 AMUnbelievable!!... I think that Ad is awesome! and I called Tylenol and told them so!!
Posted by Tammy on 07/25 at 11:29 AMI don’t know, Daniel, those nipples are aimed right at me… and they could be loaded.
Posted by Jef on 07/25 at 01:25 PMThanks for posting this, it proves the religious right’s own lie. They say they don’t want to “interefere” with our lives, they just don’t want gay issues forced down their throats. But if that were true, then why the hell are they reading The Advocate?
